The Conservative Government has announced that schools across England will receive £2 billion in extra funding in May, the highest real terms spending on schools in history to provide opportunity across the country and help grow the economy. The Stretford and Urmston parliamentary constituency will receive an extra £2,677,336 with local schools deciding how best to spend the new money.
Commenting on the news, Tracey Haworth, one of the three Local Conservative election candidates for the Davyhulme ward said “It will be reassuring for local families that the Conservative Government is committed to investing in a high-quality education in North Trafford to support young people to reach their full potential, particularly those who face challenges or who need extra support.
“That is why the Conservative Government is delivering an extra £2,677,336 in funding this year and next for primary and secondary schools across the Stretford and Urmston constituency, with a typical North Trafford primary school to receive approximately an extra £35,000 and a typical secondary school £200,000. The additional funding will help to ensure that the area remains as having some of the best schools in the North West under a Conservative Government.“
