Emily Carter-Kandola, Conservative candidate in the Stretford and Urmston by-election has urged postal voters to ensure that their votes are counted, by either returning it as soon as possible or drop it off at one of the secure locations set up due to postal strikes.
With postal strikes due to take place on Friday, 9th of December, Sunday, 11th of December, Wednesday, 14th of December and Thursday, 15th of December, voters can also drop off their postal votes at the following locations:
Stretford Library, Bennett St, Stretford, M32 8AP, 10am to 4pm
Partington Library, 91 Central Road, Partington, M31 4FY, 10am to 4pm
Urmston Library, 34 Golden Way, Urmston, M41 0NA, 10am to 4pm
Limelight Old Trafford, 1 St Brides Way, Old Trafford, M16 9N, 10am to 4pm
Sale Waterside, 1 Waterside, Sale M33 7ZF, 10am to 4pm
Trafford Town Hall, Talbot Road, Stretford, M32 0TH, 8am to 6pm
The locations are open from Monday 5 December 2022 to Friday 9 December, and then from Monday 12 December to Wednesday 14 December. Voters can also take their postal vote to their polling station on polling day. Polling stations are open from 7am until 10pm on polling day.
Emily Carter-Kandola said regarding postal voting “It’s important that every vote counts in this election and that’s why I am urging local residents with a postal vote to return it as soon as possible or drop it off at one of the locations set up for the election.
“For any voter who doesn’t vote by post currently, but would like to for the next elections, postal vote application forms can be found on the Electoral Commission website. Once the application form has been completed and signed, it can be submitted as an email or by post to the Trafford Electoral Services Office.”
