From the 23rd November 2022, hundreds of pensioners across Stretford and Urmston will begin to receive Winter Fuel Payments boosted by £300. People in the constituency on tax credits will begin to receive their second cost of living payment, supporting vulnerable households with their energy bills this winter.
Conservative candidate for the Stretford and Urmston by-election, Emily Carter-Kandola said regarding the payments “As the government tackles global cost of living pressures and rising energy prices, the Conservative government is standing by the most vulnerable in our society – including pensioner and low-income households.
“That is why Stretford and Urmston pensioners will automatically receive their regular Winter Fuel Payment, boosted by an extra £300 this year meaning some pensioner households will receive £600 on top of existing support. Local residents on tax credits can also expect to see their second cost of living payment of £324 arrive in their bank accounts by the end of November 2022.
“These extra payments will land automatically and are just one part of the wider Conservative government £49 billion support package that is being delivered – including the £400 to every household to help with rising bills.
